Derrick Griffin

Derrick Andrew Griffin, age 33, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023. He was a resident of Houma, La.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service at Chauvin Funeral Home Friday, March 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM. 

Derrick is survived by his mother, Rebecca Dumond; step-father, Allen Dumond; father, Joey Griffin; brother, Jarred Griffin; sisters, Brandy Griffin and Haley Griffin; half-sister, Jessica Freeman; grandmother, Delta Adams; nieces, Eliza Cheramie, Vaeda Cheramie, Adela Dickerson, Shaylie Griffin; nephews, Isaiah Keplinger and Channing Griffin; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Derrick is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Derris Griffin and Whitney Adams; grandmother, Elta Cheramie; niece, Shaylynn Nygaard.

Derrick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just being in the water. He loved Saints and LSU football. He enjoyed martial arts. Derrick was a talented carpenter and an artist in his own right. He enjoyed music festivals and classic rock. He was the light of his nieces and nephew lives and the most amazing Godfather to them. Those who knew Derrick, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
