Davis Joseph Dardar, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 12:20 p.m. He was a native and resident of (Pointe-Aux-Chenes) Montegut, La.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with burial following in Bisland Cemetery.
Davis is survived by his sons, Ernest J. Dardar, and Lavis P. Dardar and wife, Karyn; daughters, Walterine M. Naquin and husband, Jay, and Vivian T. Picou and husband, Cyrus Sr.; sister, Shirlene D. Markham and husband, Virgil; sisters-in-law, Mildred Dardar and Dorothy Brunet; grandchildren, Amber Robinson and husband, Edward, Ross Dardar, Jordan Naquin and companion, Natalie, Kendrick Naquin, Zachary Naquin, Cyrus Picou Jr., and Shane Picou; and great-grandchildren, Alexander “Lex” Dardar, Logan Naquin, and Kyomi Robinson.
Davis was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Olivia Marie Naquin Dardar; parents, Alvin Dardar and Thelma Neil Guidry; son, Mervin M. Dardar; brothers, Percy Sr., Manny, and Norman Sr. Dardar.
Davis was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Cursillo. He was a self-employed fisherman all his life. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends laughing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
