Dante' Vegas

Danté Anthony Vegas, age 29, passed away accompanied by his loving wife on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:49 a.m. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of the Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow.

Danté is survived by his wife of 2 ½ years, Melissa Ann Pedigo Vegas; parents, Jody Luigi and Lisa Ann Spurgin Vegas; brother, Dominic Luigi Vegas; grandfather, Herbert Joseph Vegas; grandmother, Mary Jane Spurgin; mother-in-law, Gina L. Messina; godfather, Dennis “Spice” Vegas; godmother, Cheryl Spurgin Fondino; aunt, Angel Vegas Blanchard; and numerous loving cousins.

Danté is preceded in death by his grandmother, Helen Guidry Vegas; grandfather, Everett M. Spurgin; uncles, David Allen Spurgin and Rickey Allen Burnham.

Danté was a kindhearted, loving, talented, funny, creative, and artistic young man. He loved his wife, Melissa, and his cats, Shadow and Poo, with all his heart. Danté enjoyed playing guitar and recording his original music, creating in the kitchen and cooking, and watching movies and Saints games. His sweetness and silliness combined to give him a uniqueness that will be sorely missed. His family and friends remember a kind soul who brought many smiles and much laughter to their lives and who positively influenced them all.
