Daniel Richard, Sr.

December 2, 1928 — July 5, 2021

Daniel Paul Richard, Sr., age 92, passed away Monday July 5, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and longtime resident of Houma, La.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Thursday July 8, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A rosary will be said at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Friday July 9, 2021 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery #2.

Daniel is survived by his daughters, Sheryn Weaver, Lisa Hilton, Linette Walton and husband Gordon; grandchildren, Carey Jaccuzzo and wife Heather, Whitney Weaver and wife Rebecca, Sara Scurlock and husband Trevor, Daniel “Jake” Richard and wife Maegan, Heidi Clark and husband Shawn, Richard “Rick” Hilton, William “Will” Hilton and wife Brandie, Emily Faber and husband Jeff, Ashley Morris and husband Mitch; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Freeman, Barbara Pellegrin, Janet LeBlanc; brother, Manuel Richard.

Daniel is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Buquet Richard; parents, Edgar Richard and Daisy Voisin Richard; son, Daniel Richard, Jr.; daughters, Suzanne Peters, Donna Richard; grandson, Shawn Jaccuzzo; brothers, Nolan Richard, Edgar Richard, Jr.; sister, Betty Gautreaux.

Daniel was an avid fisherman and coin collector. He was an active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed building swings for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
