Curtis Marcello, Sr.

August 15, 1928 — August 29, 2018

Curtis John Marcello, Sr. passed away on August 29, 2018 at Terrebonne General Medical Center.  He was 90 years old and a lifelong resident of Houma.  

Curtis attended St. Francis de Sales, Thibodaux College and Loyola University.  He served in the Army and was stationed at Ft Lewis in Tacoma, Washington.  He then joined the family business and married the love of his life, Gayle Duplantis.  During their 68 year marriage they enjoyed traveling, cooking, even attending the Cordon Bleu School in France. He was an accomplished woodworker and gardener.  He loved entertaining family and his close group of friends.  He was a Grand Knight of The Knights of Columbus, a Captain of The Houma Carnival Club, a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Army Jazz Band and Orchestra. 

Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Duplantis Marcello; sons, Curtis John Marcello, jr (Karen), Walt Michael Marcello (Alexa), Howard Lucas Marcello; daughters, Melanie Marcello Mitchell (Manny), Aimee Marcello Tramontana (Mark), Andree Marcello Friel (Joe); brothers Ray Marcello and Buddy Marcello; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. 

Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Archangel Thibodaux Marcello and Lucas Marcello.

Relative and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Cathederal of St Francis de Sales on Saturday, September 1, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am until the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in St Francis Cemetery No. 2. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to St Francis Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
