Claude Joseph Duthu, Sr., age 84, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021. He was a native of Dulac and a resident of Houma, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, July 1, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Bayou Blue Assembly of God Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Claude is survived by his sons, Claude "Buddy" (Patrice) Duthu, Jr., Charlton "Chuck" (Sandra) Duthu, and Nathan "Bruce" (Hilde) Duthu; daughter, Debra LeBlanc (Roland "Ronky") Parfait; sisters, Mae Smith, and Rose Christen; grandchildren, Brett Duthu, Brent Duthu, Nicole Whitney, Roland "Boo" Parfait, Jr., Brennan Duthu, Gregory Duthu, Benjamin Duthu, Lisa Ojibway, Joe Ojibway, and Alanna Ojibway; great-grandchildren, Bella, Kara, Anaya, Payton, Emily, Mackenzie, Juliette, Kyleigh, Zachary, Vivian, Zion, Aniiya, Princeton, and Ziibi.
Claude was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Eva Pellegrin Duthu; parents, Luke and Rosemary Fazzio Duthu; brothers, Joseph "Joe" Sr., Emile, Raymond "Tee", Houston "P", Myron "Beb", and Roland Duthu; sisters, Nora Fitch, Libby Brunet, Rita Bessie Dion, and Beverly Duthu.
Claude attended Bayou Blue Assembly of God Church. He was the owner of The Lakeside Cafe' in Dulac, and numerous shrimp boats. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and his 3 o'clock coffee break. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
