Chester Carlos, Sr.

Chester Joseph Carlos Sr., 77 passed away surrounded by his family on July 20, 2017 at 8:22PM. He was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 with his son, Timothy Carlos, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA from 9:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Carlos and Timothy at St. Joseph Church at 11:00AM with burial to follow after services in the church cemetery. Chester is survived by his Children, Cindy Dubois and companion Tracy Sprague, Wendy Carlos, Chester Carlos Jr.; sister Jean Carlos Adam; grandchildren Robin DuBois Billiot and husband Charles Billiot Jr., Rhonda DuBois Lodrigue and husband Reed Lodrigue, Jimmy DeRoche, Brenda Ledet and husband Lloyd Ledet Jr.; great-grandchildren, Cameron Ledet, Lila Ledet, Mason Ledet and Bethany Billiot, Mallory Billiot, and Riley Lodrigue. He is preceded by his loving wife Alice Carlos; his son Timothy Carlos; brothers, Clarence Carlos Jr., J.D. Ordoyne, Wilbert Carlos; sisters, Clara Babin and Stella Lirette and his parents, Clarence Carlos, Sr., and Emma Authement Carlos. Chester will always be remembered for his wonderful gardens. His bounty that family and friends enjoyed were his tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, and potatoes. He was a wonderful cook. He was known for his shrimp spaghetti; his trademark “Uncle Chester Burgers”, and many other dishes. He had many hobbies and passions; including cast netting, fishing, trawling, and he loved to play his harmonica. Chester worked for Chauvin Lumber Yard for 55 years. He was loved by all who knew him and will never be forgotten; but always remembered. The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice, Dr. Ray Cinnater, Dr. Lorio, Dr. Genevieve Maronge and his helpers and caregivers.
