Charles (Charlie) William Ferguson was born Nov 14, 1949 in a farmhouse in Crystal Springs Mississippi and passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at University Baptist Church, 904 Menard St. Thibodaux, LA on Saturday, December 2, 2017 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor J.P. Cox will be officiating the service. Burial will be held at a later date. His early education was in the Baptist Children’s home and completed at Crystal Springs Consolidated School. As a teenager he developed a talent for automotive repairs. He continued in that field and in time started his own business, C&T Auto Repair. He continued his education acquiring many certifications for specialty repair. He loved traveling both inside and outside the USA. He enjoyed camping, biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and always a fire at the end of the day. He was an avid bird watcher and he loved photography and just enjoying the outdoors. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner with membership in the Jerusalem Temple. He loved the Lord and while sick, he was heartbroken to be unable to attend our church, University Baptist. He would listen to the online weekly messages and he would watch closely for a new video message from our Pastor JP Cox. He leaves behind Teresa (Teri) Ferguson, his wife with whom he spent 39 years, living, laughing, and loving through all the ups and downs of life. One daughter, Stacey Ferguson who he loved without limits. He was preceded in his passing by one son Anthony Ferguson, one brother Richard Ferguson, his father Orrin Ferguson and mother Louise Walters. His survivors include sister-in-law Delores Ferguson, Cathy Yopp, Donna LeBlanc who he called friend and little sister and her husband Wesley who he called his best friend. He left behind many nieces and nephews who he loved; Teresa Gordon (Spook) Ricky Ferguson, Kayla Trahan, Dasen Yates, Renee Trahan, Tristan Dees, Trey Nelton, Abi Nelton, David Trahan, Austin Trahan, Trent Yopp, Shelly Templet, Shannon Marcel (husband Steven II). He considered the youngest grand-nephew, Steven Marcel III (lil Fella) as his “grandson” and he was “Chardi” to Steven. His friends are too numerous to list, for Charlie never met a stranger, they were simply friends in the making. His church family were his brothers and sisters in all ways. Of special note are our University Baptist Church Pastor JP and Lacie Cox. They have walked with us through joy and sorrow and Charlie loved them dearly. His relationship with the Lord was pure love. One of his desires was that his life would be a testament to others drawing them to know and accept Jesus as his Savior. Special thanks to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center Dr. Ellis; Dr. Chaisson, Dr. Boudreaux, Dr. Patten, Dr. Barton for their ministering, comforting presence, and treatment; the swift treatment of the emergency staff that allowed the additional days we needed; all the ICU nurses and staff that walked this walk with us with so many hugs, and words of faith. The compassionate care of MedSurge, and St. Joseph inpatient hospice He was loved and will be missed by everyone that was part of his life, but we will celebrate his earthly life and the glorious eternal life he now spends with Jesus.Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ferguson family.
