Bruce Lee McFarland, was born January 23, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio. A Long standing captain, avid fisherman and die-hard biker, lost his battle to cancer on Friday, April 10th, 2020. Bruce was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved with his family to Fort Myers, Florida at a young age. That is where he developed his life long passion of fishing. He earned his captain license at the young age of 18, which made him the youngest captain on Fort Myers Beach at that time. He has caught more fish in his life than most have ever dreamed of catching. Among those, a few earned him world's largest fish records. In 1995 Bruce graduated from Edison Community College with honors in math and science to pursue a career in Golf Course Greens Management. Which was a short 5 year career and he returned to his life passion. About 8 years later he moved over to Louisiana to make a living in the booming oil field. He upgraded his captains license from 100 ton to a 1600 ton and was earning a good living before the first battle with cancer, which he overcame. Along the way he reawakened his interest of motorcycling and racing. Which led him to meeting some amazing friends, some he would even consider family.
Bruce was a legendary, fun, life of the party, passionate man. Always loved to make you laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Mary McFarland. He is survived by one sibling, Mike. He leaves behind his wife, Debora; three daughters, Nicole, Terri and Tricia; nine grandchildren, Alex, Damion, J-mac, Hailey, Benjamin, Alayna, Josie, CJ and Willow and a worldwide brotherhood, GBNF
