Brook Guidry

November 1, 1967 — December 22, 2020

Houma, Louisiana- Brook Steven Guidry, a passionate and caring soul who held many roles as husband, father, brother, son, friend and therapist - left this world December 22, 2020. Losing him just prior to Christmas, we will be forever reminded to cherish the joy and laughter he and others have left with us over the years.

Brook was born in New Orleans, LA and spent his formidable years growing up in Houma, attending St. Francis de Sales and Vandebilt Catholic High School and solidifying his career direction by completing his undergraduate and Master's degrees at L.S.U. Through hard work and determination throughout all these years, he became a proficient BCSW and helped thousands of adults and children to regain their footing in life.

Brook received the most joy in life from Marla, his wife of 31 years; they were married in St. Francis de Sales cathedral on August 4th 1989. Over these many years, they shared countless adventures together: having two loving children, Connor and Grant, spending time with cherished friends, and exploring the world together. Brook's strong sense of family was easily felt by all who knew him; he liked nothing better than spending time with his loved ones. His intelligence, loyalty, compassion and quick wit will be missed dearly.

Brook is survived by his spouse, Marla Hebert Guidry; his children, Connor Paul Guidry and Grant Joseph Guidry his mother Betty Murry Serafini, father Lou Serafini brother LJ Serafini (Michelle) and sister Kim Serafini (Al) and scores of aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, the late Russell Paul Guidry and Jerry Drott Guidry.
