Benjamin Leary

Benjamin Pennington Leary, 16, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at 6:17AM. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 9:00AM until service time at Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral at 12:00PM. A Private burial will be held at a later date by the family.

Benjamin is survived by his Parents, Sean and Ann-Margaret “Penny” McKey Leary; Sister, Sarah Elise Leary; Brother, Joshua Holmes Leary.

Benjamin is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Carroll McKey.

Benjamin was a vibrant and caring person. He had a smile that spoke more than words. You knew you were in the presence of a kind and gentle soul. Benjamin loved to spend time with his friends. He enjoyed many hobbies; but most enjoyed collecting phone cases and fielded a variety of cases from his collection. You could find Ben singing and dancing along with anybody who would participate in his love of music. He was honored when he was deemed Mayor of the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis Tennessee.

The family would like to give special thanks to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The E Clinic, Radiation Oncology, and all the wonderful friends who the family have met through this difficult journey.

In lieu of flowers; the family request donations to either Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis, TN or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
