Barry Guidry, Sr.

Barry Andrew Guidry Sr., passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.  He was a native and resident of Dulac, Louisiana.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  On, Saturday, January 27, 2018, visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Dulac, Louisiana from 8:30 AM until service time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at Holy Family at 11:00 AM.  A private burial will take place at a later date.

Barry is survived by his children, Karen Guidry of Lafayette, LA, Barry Guidry Jr. and his wife, Chelle of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Dana Guidry Eldridge and her husband, John of Richardson, Texas, Mindi Guidry Petitfils and her husband, Roy of Youngsville, Louisiana, Joshua Guidry and his wife, Hayley of Maurice, Louisiana; brothers Michael, Berton, and Jerome Guidry; and five grandchildren, Sarah Wilson, Baille McMahan, Max and Ben Petitfils, and Samuel Guidry.

Barry is preceded in death by his parents, Mark Anthony Guidry and Esther Carlos Guidry; daughter, Charisse Anne Guidry;  three brothers Mark "Sonny" Guidry, Reginald "Reggie" Guidry, and Errol Guidry;  sister, Salome Guidry.

Barry served at a public servant on the Terrebonne Parish School Board.  He was an accomplished electrician and a faithful and devout Roman Catholic at Holy Family Catholic Church.  He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping.  His hobbies included wine making, wood working, travel, and photography.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency in the name of Barry Guidry, Sr.
