Barbara Smith Carroll

Barbara Smith Carroll, age 84, passed away in peace at her residence on Sunday, November 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Marrero, La and current resident of Georgia.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Vickie H. Brown, stepsons; John Carroll III and Patrick J. Carroll, daughter in law Brenda T. Hofstetter; grandchildren, Jeff S. Collins, Laura C. (Sidney) Gonzales, Brooke H. (Cory) O'Bryant, David J. (Marissa) Hofstetter, Dylan M. Hofstetter (Jason Thibodeaux),  great grandchildren; Merrick Hofstetter, Sidney Gonzales IV, Austin Gonzales, Kylie Gonzales, Sarah Collins, Steven Collins, Scott Collins, Shane Collins, and Shannon Collins, sister, Doris Jean Rea (Dwight), as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Carroll, Jr.; parents, James Levon Smith and Gladys Roush Smith; sons, Douglas B. Hofstetter and Michael W. Hofstetter; and son-in-law, David K. Brown.

Barbara had 40 loving and happy years of marriage to Johnny. Barbara spent her life with Johnny, by traveling the world together and seeing new places and trying new worldly experiences. The richness of their marriage cannot be surpassed nor forgotten. Barbara, known as “MiMi” was a loving and caring mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and sister. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment of making memories that will live on.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, November 11, 2022, beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the Religious Service at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
