Arthur Anthony Eschete, a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2023, at the age of 88. Arthur was born on October 27, 1935. He was a 1954 graduate of Terrebonne High School, served in the Army National Guard and worked in the oilfield ‘on the lakes’ for Automatic Power and Texaco, Inc. for many years, retiring with Texaco.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. Committal service will follow at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery, where Arthur will be laid in eternal rest.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rose F. Eschete; four daughters, Catherine Grosskopf, Allyson Hutchinson and husband John, Vickie Allen and husband Timothy, and Heidi Kerley and husband Collin; brother, Alva J. Eschete and wife Felicie; sisters, Linda Scheer and Ida Eschete; grandchildren, Meghan Sousa (Mario), Margot Anderson (JT), Jacob Allen (Emilie), Chelsea Lynn Allen, Lauren Petrie (Jake), Ryan Hutchinson (Mary Katharine), Madelyn Hutchinson, Cooper Kerley, and Hadley Kerley; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Anthony Eschete and Nora Cecile Savin Eschete.
Arthur (“RT”, “Paw-Paw”) was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and parrain. He will always be in the hearts and minds of all that knew him.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Scott Haydel, Dr. Ugo Ezema, CenterWell Home Health, and St. Joseph Hospice for the loving care provided.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Arthur’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Lung Association.
