Archie Preston Jenkins

Archie Preston Jenkins, 92, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, in Reserve, La. Archie was born in Clearwater, La and a resident of Houma, La.

 Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 9:30. Ministry services will begin at 11:00 followed by burial services at the Garden of Memories in Gray, La.

Archie is survived by his granddaughter, Meghan Thompson and husband Mark Thompson; great grandsons, Matthew Archer Thompson and Owen Michael Thompson; grandson, Eric Jenkins and significant other Nyleva Corley; daughter in law, Elvira Jenkins; and granddaughter, Amanda Blanchard and husband Chad Blanchard and children.

Archie is preceded in death by his wife, Eve Mary Adams Jenkins and son Lynn Douglas Jenkins; parents, Dollie Johnson Jenkins and Ethan Jenkins; brothers, Leroy Jenkins, Allen Jenkins, Marvin Jenkins, K.C. Jenkins, and sisters, Betty Pratt, Francis Carter, and Florence Wells.

Archie served his country in World War 2 and was a loving husband for 64 years to his wife who enjoyed sitting on his porch swing. A special thank you is extended to those who have helped and supported the family including neighbors, friends, and the nurses at the Southeast War Veterans Home for caring for his wellbeing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or similar organizations that support veterans.
