Antoine A. Verdin, age 87, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Terrebonne General Medical Center. He was a native of Dulac and a longtime resident of Houma. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Chapel Dauphine at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3, 2018 beginning at 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Celebration of Life service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Antoine is survived by his daughter, Delta Verret and husband Bernard; sons, Joseph Verdin, Sr. and wife Monique, Kenneth Verdin and companion, Earline, Raymond Verdin, and Glen Verdin and wife Lawana; grandchildren, Christi Fanguy and husband Nuggie, Shawna Guidry, Jonathan Verdin and wife Michelle, Brittney Verret, Tammy Adams, Timmy Adams, Glen Verdin, Jr., Jude Verret and wife Savana, Joseph Verdin, Jr., and Gerald St. Germain; 11 great grandchildren. Antoine is preceded in death by his parents, John and Azelie Fitch Verdin; wife, Josephine Florence Smith Verdin; sons, Calvin, Mark, and infant Verdin; daughters, Bernie Verret and husband Edward, Mary Ann Verdin, and Rita Ann Verdin; granddaughter, Chelsie Verdin; brothers, Joseph, Albert, Paul, and John Verdin; sisters, Florence Cotton, Josephine Lodrigue, Edna Verret, and Rosella Billiot. Antoine was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was blessed with a large family and took pride in spending time with them. Antoine loved to hunt, fish, and cook. He was a commercial fisherman, trawler, and trawl net repairman. He enjoyed fishing by the bayou, spending time by the still waters of God’s creation. He went to his Heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior and spends eternity with his loving wife of fifty-four years, Josephine Verdin. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Verdin family.
