Alton Hebert

Alton Anthony Hebert, age 94, passed away Thursday June 16, 2022. He was born in Southdown, La and resided in Houma, La the remainder of his life.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Wednesday June 22, 2022 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery #2.

Alton is survived by his daughters, Helen Hebert, Patty Lajaunie; son-in-law, Hilton Lajaunie; grandchildren, Annie Lajaunie and Dr. Jared Lajaunie.

Alton is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Marie Hebert; parents, Norie Hebert and Alvish Hebert; brother, Reynold Hebert; niece, Linda Hebert; nephews, Neal Hebert, Barry Hebert; sister-in-law, Theresa Hebert.

Alton was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He proudly served in World War II in the Navy. He worked many years at Southdown Sugar Refinery until its closure. He also worked for Gemoco/Weatherford until his retirement. Alton was known to be a jack of all trades and always displayed a strong work ethic. Upon his retirement he and his wife enjoyed woodworking. Alton loved his family and the times he spent with them, especially his two grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family requests that all visitors please wear a mask when attending the visitation and service.
