Aloisia Delaune

September 8, 1923 — October 16, 2021

Louisia Delaune, 98, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 12:45am.  She was a native of Vienna, Austria and resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 9:00am until service time.  Liturgy of the Word will  follow visitation on Thursday at 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home.  Burial will take place in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Louisia is survived by her son, Michael S. Delaune and wife Amy DeCoursey Delaune; niece Elizabeth Guidry who was like a daughter to her.  She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and neighbors.

Louisia is preceded in death by her husband, Patrick H. Delaune; parents, Stefan and Aloisia Trag Kupka; brother, Stefan Kupka.

Louisia enjoyed music and entertaining family and friends.  She had a lively soul who could be depended upon and would listen to anyone who needed an ear. Louisia never met a stranger. 

Louisia lived during the Second World War in Vienna, Austria and experienced much of the conflict in a personal manner. She later in life met her husband in Austria and married. From that time in her life she returned with her husband to the United States to live an action filled life.   

The family would like to give special thanks to The Oaks of Houma, Dr. Russell Henry, and Haydel Memorial Hospice for the love and care they provided to Aloisia and family.

Aloisia’s life will live on in the many family and friends she leaves behind.  She will never be forgotten; but always and forever loved.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic; local and CDC regulations require facemask and proper social distancing while attending funeral services.
