Allen Nelton, Sr.

Allen Joseph Nelton Sr., age 84, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. He was a native of Bourg and a longtime resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, June 4, 2020 in Chapel Dauphine at Chauvin Funeral Home beginning at 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Service 11a.m. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Allen is survived by his son, Allen Joseph Nelton, Jr. and wife Tina, and Brantle Nelton; daughter, Chesley Nelton Naquin and husband Darren; grandchildren, Melanie Trosclair and husband David, Keith Hatch and wife Crystal, Lisa Boquet and husband Brad, April Trahan and husband Brett, Heidi Blanchard and husband Shane, Amanda Chiasson husband Remi; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brothers, Hansen Nelton and wife Marie, Joseph Nelton, sisters, Audrey McCurry, Marylee Matherne, and Connie Matherne and husband Dale.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ella LeBouef Nelton; Aaron Nelton; Andrew Nelton; granddaughter, Kasi Nelton; brother, Elgin “Jim” Nelton; sister, Emily Jabert .

Allen was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was blessed with a large family that he loved working,   visiting with his family, joking around riding his motorbike, and fishing.

The family would like to thank St. Catherine's Hospice and The Oaks of Houma for their care.
