Allen Marie, Sr.

Allen Joseph Marie, Sr., age 90, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at his residence. He was surrounded by his loving family when he transitioned to his Heavenly Home. Allen was a native of Houma a longtime resident of Chauvin for fifty years and Montegut for eighteen years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday at 9:00 a.m. until the Liturgy of the Word at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin.

Allen was survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Della Lecompte Marie; son, Jackie Anthony Marie and wife Sherry; daughter, Donna Marie Luke and husband Majesta; grandchildren, Jaby Jude Luke, Frankie Allen Luke and wife Alicia, Tyler John Luke and wife Nicole, Michele Ann Pitre and husband John, Allison Ann Dupre and companion Chris Jaubert, Ashley Michele Marie and companion Zach Levron, Brittany Rene’ Trahan and husband Dimitri, Brandon Arcement and wife Bridgette; great-grandchildren, Blair, Julez, and Jonas Luke, Drey Dupre, Sarah and Rylee Pitre, Kamryn Angele, Jordan and Brooklyn Trahan, Paul Collins; sister, Evelyn Marie Domangue

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Morris Joseph Marie, and Vivian Pellegrin Marie; son, Allen Joseph Marie, Jr.; sister, Geraldine Marie Reding.

Allen was a loving and kind man who loved his family dearly. Allen and his wife Della created beautiful life together. He leaves a legacy behind. Allen was a very dedicated and hard worker who instilled strong work ethics to his children. Allen was a very smart businessman, he owned and operated a Shrimp and Oyster Factory in Montegut for many years. In the last eighteen years he became a cattleman.
