Alice Joy Goodwyn Cooper, 75, died on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 5:06 AM. She was a native of Shelby County, TX and a resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 5 PM until 9 PM and Friday, August 11, 2017 from 9 AM until funeral service at Chauvin Funeral Home with a funeral service at 11 AM. Visitation also will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 9 AM until 11 AM at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, TX. Burial will be held in Patroon Cemetery in Patroon, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Bruce Cooper, Sr.; son, Jerry B. Cooper, Jr.; daughter, Alisa C. Boquet and husband, Randy; sisters, Bea Parks, and Evelyn Wagstaff and husband, Laurie; grandsons, Chase and Zach Boquet.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa A. Cooper; parents, Jimmie “Son” Hogg and Mary “Gladys” Risinger Goodwyn; brother, Thomas Goodwyn; brother-in-law, Carson Parks. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and retelling old stories. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cooper Family.
