Agnes Babin

December 16, 1924 — February 23, 2018

Agnes Marie Crochet Babin, 93, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s resident. She was a native of Gray and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Delvin “Danny Boy” Babin, Jr. and wife, Linda, Gary J. Babin, Donovan A. Babin and wife, Jackie, and Barry J. Babin and wife, Linda; daughters, Janice B. Avet and husband, Ranis, and Karla M. Babin; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” C. Didier and Frances C. Sellers; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Delvin Joseph Babin, Sr.; brothers, Clovis Crochet, Jr. and Paul Crochet; sisters, Bernice C. Curole, Cecelia C. Chatagnier, Annie A. Crochet, and Irene C. Michel.

Agnes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly. Agnes enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family and loved going to the casino. She also loved to dance, she spent many nights dancing with her husband and close friends. She retired from the Houma Courier after 18 years and she was a longtime parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. She is now reunited with her husband Delvin and they now rest in the arms of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion.
