Adruel Ann Breaux Luke, 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:45am. Adruel was a native and resident of Dulac, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 9:30am until service time. A Liturgy of the Word will begin at Chauvin Funeral Home at 1:30pm at Chauvin Funeral Home. Burial will take place after the Liturgy in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.
Adruel is survived by her five children, Gerard Richard, Dwayne Richard, Stefan Richard and wife Lisa; daughters, Celena Richard Theriot and husband Todd, Angele Richard Dominique and husband Herman; grandchildren, Tamika Richard, Shane Verdin, Austin Richard, Brennan Richard, Seth Richard, Stephanie Richard Jones, Ashley Cope, Stefan Richard Jr., Andria Richard, Kullen Theriot Fregeau, Trent Theriot, Hobie Dominique, Brea Dominique, and Brooke Dominique; great-grandchildren, Shai Guidry, Dayton Guidry, Jaden Guidry, Slade Pellegrin, Shayne Verdin, Aurora Richard, Braylen, Olive, and Isaac Jones, Tanyiah Ealey, Stefan Richard III, Lerin Fregeau, Magen Fregeau, Cameron Fregeau, Lily and Tatum Theriot, Kenzie, Annistyn and Atley Dominique, Teryn and Rex Duhon, Liam and Beckham Callais; seven-great great grandchildren; sisters, Eloise Champagne, and Lenora Breaux.
Adruel is preceded in passing by her parents, Hughes and Nora Bourg Breaux; sisters, Mae Doris Simon, Juanita Tauzin, Marian Breaux; brothers-in-law, A. J. Simon, Richard Tauzin, Robert Price; ex-husband and father of her children, Joseph C. Richard.
Adruel’s parents owned Dulac Beach in Dulac. As a young girl, she helped her parents along with her siblings run the family business. Once married she became a seamstress and then co-owner of New Hope Amusement. She remarried to John Luke Sr. and became owners of Uncle Boys Dulac Beach Marina. Adruel will forever be remembered as a most caring, giving, and very generous person.
Born in Dulac, LA on November 3, 1936; Adruel was the only one of six sisters to remain and live in Dulac her entire life. She loved going to church on Sundays with her side kick, care taker and close friend Patricia “Cheina” Parfait. Adruel would help anyone in need and loved her Dulac heritage. People in the community relied on her for her skills in genealogy.
She will be greatly missed by all family and friends. She sure was a character!
