Wilma Locascio Songe, 99, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Houma, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9:15 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by one son, S.L. Locascio of Houma; two daughters, Antoinette Butcher and Gloria Rhodes of Houma; one sister, Mabel Chaisson of Houma; five grandchildren, Glenn and Craig Hutchinson, Allyson Lyons, Wayne Rhodes and Lynn LeBoeuf; and eight great-grandchildren, David, Ryan and Brooke LeBoeuf, Craig and Parker Hutchinson, Lindsey Rhodes, Neil Lyons and Holly Thibodeaux.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Locascio; her second husband, Henry Songe; her parents, Myrtle Kern and Justilia Mire Kern; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Locascio; two sons-in-law, Charles Hutchinson and Calvin Rhodes; one brother, Philip Kern; and three sisters, Eurine Samaha, Bella Triche and Elvie Thomas.
She was a homemaker and a past member of the Legion of Mary, Ladies Altar Society, Young at Heart Club and St. Francis de Sales Cathedral Choir. She visited the sick weekly at the hospital. She will always be remembered as kind and generous, and she was deeply religious.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
