Margaret Elaine Beason Mooney, 65, a native of Houma and resident of Donner, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Mass will be at noon Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Hope Scott and husband, Terry, of Gray and Melissa Bascle and husband, Matthew, of Houma; two brothers, Watt Beason of Houma and Steve Beason of Schriever; one sister, Cheryl Dover of Houma; and five grandchildren, Ashleigh Scott, Darren Scott, Connor Bascle, Nicholas Bascle and Sarah Marble.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lightfoot Mooney; her parents, John Ezra Beason and Bessie Marie Toups Beason; one son, John Melancon; and one brother, Wilfred Beason.
She was a retired disaster-relief worker and a parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
