Betty Joe "Elizabeth Josephine" Price Gros

Betty Joe "Elizabeth Josephine" Price Gros, 77, a native of New Orleans and resident of Schriever, died at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Prayer service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Bridget Cemetery. She is survived by seven sons, Russell Bonvillain of Lafayette, Oneill Bonvillain Jr., Byron Bonvillain, Robert Gros of Houma, Jerry Gros of Schriever, Billy Gros of Houma and Darel Gros of Lafayette; four daughters, Joan Massey of Gulfport, Miss., Deborah "Debbie" Olivier of Grenada, Miss., Nadine Santacruz of Saucier, Miss., and Sherry Breaux of Houma; three brothers, Edward "Crow" Price, Lawrence "Larry" Price and John Price of Montegut; three sisters, Pearl Bonvillain, Alta Bergeron of Houma and Mary Ann Boudreaux of Galliano; 31 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney J. Gros; her parents, Forest J. Price and Camilla A. Samanie Price; and two sisters, Florence "Flo" Bonvillain and Jeanette Savoie. She was a former cake decorator at Rouses and a sales clerk at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Evergreen Sunset Lions Club and Houma La Bonne Terre Lions Club. She was a parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church.
