Louis Joseph DuBois, 76, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, Robert "Peanut" DuBois and wife, Debra, of Sulphur and Buddy Chambliss and wife, Diana, of Powder Springs, Ga.; one daughter, Roxanne DuBois Mayer and husband, Mark, of Houma; two brothers, Paul DuBois and Leroy DuBois of Houma; one sister, Theresa Authement of Chauvin; eight grandchildren, Brandon DuBois, Rande’ DuBois, Roy Finley, Shanon Schevers, Shane Chambliss, Russell Caldwell, Kristen Caldwell and Daniel Mayer; and one great-grandchild, Stephanie Chambliss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam DuBois and Emelia Trahan DuBois; one brother, Davis DuBois; and four sisters, Marie Labit Breaux, Marceline Bergeron, Elda Falgout and Aline Duplantis.
He was a retired utility man with Columbia Gulf Transmission of 42 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He enjoyed boiling seafood, barbecuing, socializing with his friends and spending time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be forever missed by all who knew and love him
