Dora Martin Songe, 86, a native of El Paso, Texas, and resident of Houma, died at 4 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2006.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by two sons, R. Martin Songe and wife, Linda, of Kingsville, Texas, and Douglas Songe and wife, Carol, or Wagoner, Texas; three daughters, Jeanne Brown and husband, James, of Azle, Texas, Olivia Labit and husband, Francis, of Houma and Victoria Detiveaux and husband, Joe, of Odessa, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard "Sonny" Songe; her parents, Jackson Herbert Martin and Laura Marchbanks Martin; one brother, Charles E. Martin; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
She was a member of Krewe of Flames, Doll Lovers, Houma Oil Wives Club and a Girl Scout leader for many years.
She was a retired registered nurse and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
