George Gilbert Keen Jr., 77, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at noon Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1.
He is survived by his wife, Audry Mae Doiron Keen of Houma; one son, Albert G. Keen and wife, Nina, of Houma; two daughters, Sara Kelpsch and husband, Eddie, and Georgette Millet and husband, Frank, of Houma; one sister, Shirley Jackson of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Michael Millet, Amanda Darcey, Jon Kelpsch, Cele’ Kelpsch, Andrew Keen, Nia Keen and Shea Musso; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Gilbert Keen Sr. and Edna Flanagan Keen.
He was a retired electrical engineer with Shell Exploration and Production Co. and was in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
He was an Eucharistic Minister, master gardener, enjoyed bowling and golf and loved family and friends dearly.
He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
