Joseph Sam Griffin, 84, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Houma, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Sam Griffin of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Barbara Griffin and Anna Grace Griffin of Houma; and three sisters, Egnolia Richoux, Lorena Prestenbach and Joyce Puglise.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Voisin Griffin; his parents, Sam Griffin and Ernestine Duet Griffin; one son, Joey James Griffin; three brothers, Hubert Griffin, Eric Griffin and Anthony Griffin; and two sisters, Viola Giardina and Verda Guidry.
He was a retired boiler with J. Ray McDermott with 33 years of services and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
