Oneil "Smokey" Jerome Marie Sr.

Oneil "Smokey" Jerome Marie Sr., 92, a native of Little Caillou and resident of Houma, died at 4:09 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his companion, Agnes Pitre of Bourg; four sons, Leslie Paul Marie, Oneil Marie Jr., Russell Marie and Steve Marie of Houma; two daughters, Sybil Marcel of Houma and Toni Johnson of Carrollton, Ga.; one brother, Gustave "Gus" Marie of Little Caillou; one sister, Julia Blanchard of Houma; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Foret Marie; his parents, Joseph Marie and Cecilia Domangue Marie; four brothers, Henri Marie, Morris Marie, Oris "Pechan" Marie and Paul "Toot" Marie; and three sisters, Onelia King, Ezar Dupre and Winona Voisin. He was a retired fisherman and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church
