Richard "Richie" Vernon Battise Jr.

Richard "Richie" Vernon Battise Jr., 43, a native of Houma and resident of Chauvin, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Angela Luke Battise of Chauvin; his parents, Richard Vernon Battise Sr. and Emma Blanchard Battise of Chauvin; one son, Rich Battise of Bourg; two daughters, Lacey Battise and Casey Battise of Chauvin; three brothers, Kelly Battise and wife, Kim, of Gray, Jason Battise and wife, Amanda, and Robert Battise and wife, Shanna, of Chauvin; two sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Champagne and husband, Marc, of Chauvin and Tonni LeCompte and husband, John, of Houma; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon Battise and Elizabeth Battise Ware and Alexander and Therese Blanchard; his great-grandparents, Roy and Katie DeSilvey; and one niece, Jennifer Champagne.
