Everett Anthony Giroir Jr., 78, a native of Raceland and resident of Gibson, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2006.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Prayer service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Scheffler Giroir of Gibson; one son, Craig A. Giroir of Gibson; one daughter, Natalie G. Johnston of Gibson; one sister, Henrietta G. Coble of Gibson; three grandchildren, Jessica L. Giroir of Houma, Chelsea A. Johnston and Jade N. Johnston of Gibson; and one great-grandchild, Gavin S. Thibodeaux of Houma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Giroir Sr. and Bridget Benoit Giroir; and two brothers, Conrad A. Giroir and Hartley J. Giroir.
He was the retired owner of Giroir Enterprises Dump Truck Service and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a former police juror from 1976 to 1980 and was on the North Terrebonne Levee Board.
