George Paul Rogers, 77, a native of Lockport and resident of Houma, died at 3:53 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2006.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Margaret Theriot Rogers of Houma; one son, Bobbie Allen Rogers and wife, Tina; two daughters, Gwen Duplantis of Chauvin and Maureen Fanguy and husband, Maurice; one brother, Elwood Rogers of Raceland; one sister, Olga Robichaux of Raceland; 10 grandchildren, Jason Rogers and companion, Kim Hayes; Stacie Rogers, Tamica LeBlanc and companion, Peter Chauvin, Tristan Rogers, Sara Lee Granier and husband, Torey, Maurice Fanguy III and wife, Ashley; Kimie Fanguy; Joshua Fanguy; Brett Duplantis and companion, Erica, and Kaylie Duplantis; and nine great grandchildren, Jason Rogers Jr., Teigan Rogers, Madison DeHart, Kasey Chauvin, Grace Rogers, Claudia, Taylor and Gabrielle Fanguy, and Tyla Granier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Rogers and Winnie Folse Rogers; three brothers, Julius, Harold and Hampton Gaudet; and one sister, Alice Segretto.
He was the owner of Rogers Pest Control since 1972. He retired in 1991.
He was a prisoner of war for 37 months in the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, V.F.W. Post 3700, D.A.V. American Ex Prisoner of War Association, South Louisiana Ex P.O.W. Association, Korean War Veteran Association and Tigers Survivors of the Korean War.
He was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.
