Josephine "Fin" Dion Parfait, 83, a native of Dulac and resident of Houma, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006.
Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Prevost Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Antoine "T-Man" Parfait of Dulac, Wilton "Pierre" Parfait Jr. and wife, Gwen, of Bush and Michael Anthony Parfait of Dulac; five daughters, Mary Florence "ToToy" Solet and husband, Addie Sr., Mildred "Memit" Parfait and husband, Cyrus, of Houma, Marlene Verdin and husband, Roy, of Dulac, Rose Verdin and husband, Calvin Sr., of Georgia and Ruth "Youte" Carrere and husband, Arnold "Zip," of Houma; two sisters, Marie Alice Dion and Hazel Verdin of Dulac; two half-brothers, Melton and Albert Dion; 36 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton "Pon Pon" Parfait Sr.; her parents, Joseph Elias Dion and Hazel Billiot Dion; two sons, Joseph Milton "Puput" Parfait Sr. and Elton Parfait; two grandchildren, Desiree’ Carrere and Aaron Parfait; one brother, Joseph Dion; and one sister, Rose Foret Pellegrin.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
