Vivian Aucoin Finklea, 86, a native of Bourg and resident of Metairie, died at 10:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2006.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Metairie.
She is survived by two sons, John Robert Finklea of Metairie and Thomas A. Finklea and wife, Sally, of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Suzanne F. Uhl and husband, James, of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Ruby Aucoin Bascle of Bourg; four grandchildren, Aaron James Finklea and wife, Brie, of Austin, Jacob Lawrence Finklea of Beaumont, Texas, Joshua Bernard Finklea of Austin and Jennifer Suzanne Uhl and fiance, Daniel Harris, of Carlsbad, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Finklea; her parents, Camille Aucoin and Regina Robichaux Aucoin; and two brothers, Numa and P.J. Aucoin.
She was a devoted mother and housewife and a very active member of the church community at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Metairie, where she served in many capacities.
