Gene Chauvin Sr., 73, a native and resident of Houma, died Thurs-day, Oct. 26, 2006.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to service time Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by his former wife, Mary Glynn Chauvin; his companion, Chris Nettleton; one son, Gene Chauvin Jr. and wife, Sarah; two daughters, Lisa Himel and husband, Herbert, and Sandy Dague and husband, Brian; two brothers, Harold Chauvin Jr. and Donald Chauvin; five sisters, Beverly Carroll, Maybelle Prather, Sybil Boudreaux, Yvonne Daigle and Pat Autin; and five grandchildren, Ross Chauvin, Michelle Chauvin, Nicholas Himel, Allyce Himel and Haley Dague.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Chauvin Sr. and Irene Thibodaux Chauvin.
He was president of Chauvin Brothers in Chauvin and was a Korean War veteran and was past commander of the VFW Post No. 9608.
He donated his body to science
