Randolph "Randy" Paul Duplantis, 80, a native of Houma and resident of Covington, died at 12:49 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2006.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Myrick Duplantis of Covington; two sons, Mark Duplantis and wife, Paula, of Destrehan, and Terry Duplantis Jr. and wife, Donnie, of Ridgeland, Miss.; one daughter, Debra Young and husband, Terry, of Kenner; two sisters, Mae Theriot Ledet of Thibodaux and Gilda Rhodes Guillory of Houma; nine grandchildren, Aimie, Neal, Andrew, Melanie, Amber, Paul, Jade, Kylee and Brian; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Landon, Mackensie and Lexi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adley Duplantis and Gertrude Buquet Duplantis; one son, Terry Duplantis Sr.; and two brothers, Ephie Duplantis Sr. and Ernest Duplantis Sr.
He was a self-employed air condition and heating repairman and was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II.
