Ruby Frances Nichols Detiveaux, 82, a native of El Dorado, Okla., and resident of Houma, died at 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006.
Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Irvin Detiveaux Jr. of Lake Charles and Steven Detiveaux of Chico, Calif.; five daughters, Doris D. Deroche of Lafayette, Sandra D. Use’ of Lafayette, Geraldine D. LeGrande of Paradis, Joyce D. Crochet of Youngsville and Karen D. Runnel, of San Antonio; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Peter Detiveaux Sr.; her parents, Frank Nichols Sr. and Mary Betchan Nichols; one daughter, Dawn Detiveaux; two brothers, Emmett Nichols and Frank Nichols Jr.; and seven sisters, Clara N. Smith, Mae N. Davis, Hazel N. Davis, Minnie N. Blanton, Ida N. Click, Effie Nichols and Amy N. Salter.
She was a secretary-bookkeeper for Naquins Conoco and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
