Merlin Joseph Naquin, 79, a native of Pointe-aux-Chenes, LA and resident of Houma, LA died Monday, May 3, 2010.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday, May 6, 2010 and Friday, May 7, 2010 from 8:00 AM until service time at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church.
Service will be at 10:00 AM at
Maria Immaculata Catholic Church and burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
He is survived by, daughters, Lynn M. Chaves, Lafayette, LA, Janabeth "JB" Daigle, Houma, LA; sons, Carey J. Naquin and wife Rosie, Katy, TX, Chet D. Naquin and wife Amanda, Houma, LA; grandchildren, Michael Naquin, Kevin Naquin, Kristina Chaves, Tyler Chaves, James Daigle, Katelyn Daigle, Lindsey Naquin, Hunter Naquin, John Steinmetz, Laurie Steinmetz and Joshua Fanguy; great Grandchildren: John "Jack" Naquin, Gentry Foreman, Alexa Lott, Peyton Foreman, Hannah Steinmetz and John "Parker" Steinmetz.
He is preceded in death by his
wife, Hilda Mary LeBoeuf Naquin;
parents, Harry Paul Naquin and Ethel LeBoeuf Naquin.
Merlin retired after a 38 year career with Halliburton Energy Services.
He received a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from LSU in 1953.
He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955.
He enjoyed, LSU sports, fishing, hunting, farming, dancing and visiting with friends and family.
He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that consideration be given to making a donation to the Kidney Cancer Association or the Terrebonne Council on Aging.
