Arthur Joseph Thibodeaux Jr., 86, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 11:05 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Brunella Luke of Chauvin; three brothers, Lindsay "T-Lin" Thibodeaux of Houma, Wilbert Thibodeaux and Jimmy Thibodeaux of Chauvin; one sister, Ismay "Mae Me" Lirette of Chauvin; three grandchildren, Kell Luke and wife, Donna, Tedd Luke and wife, Karen, and Tillman Luke Jr. and wife, Patricia; and six grandchildren, Shelly Luke Thompson and husband, Scott, Joeby Luke, Arthur Luke, Samantha Luke, Nicholas Luke and Kristen Luke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Marie Authement; his parents, Arthur Joseph Thibodeaux Sr. and Ella Pellegrin Thibodeaux; one brother, Elton "T-Yet" Thibodeaux; and three sisters, Winnona "T-Non" T. Lirette, Blanch T. Theriot and Vallie T. Collins.
He was a retired foreman with Indian Ridge Shrimp Co. for 70 years doing many different jobs. Between his factory work he was a carpenter, plumber and electrician. He was co-owner of a shrimp boat and was a fur trapper. He loved to work in his vegetable garden and flower beds. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and was loved by all. He was a member of Ward Seven Citizens Club.
