Yvonne Samanie Austin, 59, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2006.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home’s chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by three sons, Jud Dupre Jr. and companion, Tonka Adams, Shane Dupre and wife, Jennifer, and Chad Dupre and wife, Sharon "J.R.", all of Houma; three daughters, Tanya Hebert and husband, Jonathan, Toni Dupre and fiancé, Glen Malbrough, and Dawn Griffin and fiancé, Roland Williams Jr., all of Houma; three sisters, Linda Rhodes and husband, Floyd, of Lafayette, Sue Picou and husband, Reggie, of Houma and Debra Nicholas and husband, Rick, of Kraemer; and 20 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Austin; her parents, Orville Samanie and Euna Mae LeBouef Samanie; one sister, Carolyn Trahan; and one granddaughter, Alexis Griffin.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and was activities director of Maison de Ville Nursing Home for almost 10 years.
