Marsan Sylvestre Picou, 92, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2006.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald Joseph Picou and wife, Mary Linda Callahan Picou, of Houma and John Lloyd Picou and wife, Donna McDonald Picou, of Houston; two daughters, Kathryn P. Vicknair and husband, Ernest A. Vicknair, of Thibodaux and Linda Ann Picou Charpentier and husband, Richard Charpentier, of Bayou Blue; one brother, Webb P. Picou of Bourg; one sister, Lucy Porche and husband, Aaron, of Houma; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Marie Thibodeaux Picou; his parents, Alidore Joseph Picou and Melina LeCompte Picou; one daughter, Garnett Picou Bourgeois; one son-in-law, LeRoy Bourgeois; and three brothers, Easton J. Picou, Bruce A. Picou and Isadore Picou.
He was a retired owner and auto mechanic of Picou’s Auto Repair and a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
