Phillip Osborne Alexander, 93, a native of Wilmington, N.C., and resident of Houma, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006.
Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by one stepson, John S. Dean and wife, Jane P. Dean, of Houma; beloved grandfather to Carey J. Dean, Mary Jane Crochet, Randy P. Dean and Michael “Mike” W. Dean; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Gaidry Alexander; and his parents, Vernice Elmer Long and Prentiss Osborne Long Alexander and A.P. Alexander.
He was a retired executive in Music Copyrights ASCAP and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a Mason.
