Helen Leonard Henry, 79, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died at 3:43 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Elie Cemetery.
She is survived by four sons, Minus Henry, Herman Henry, Melvin Henry and Robert Henry; five daughters, Yvonne White, Evelyn Ellender, Verna Carlos, Helene Mahaffey and Bonnie Davis; one sister, Dorothy Domangue; 30 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi John Henry; her parents, Antoine Leonard and Bridget Pontiff Leonard; one daughter, Darlene Henry; five brothers, William, Harris, Charles, Adam and Francis Leonard; five sisters, Ruth Bourg, Genevieve LeBoeuf, Josephine LeBlanc, Eve Leonard and Bertha Leonard; one grandchild, Marlene White; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Lapeyrouse and Hallie Domangue; and two step-great-grandchildren, Mathew Norman and James M. Pierron.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
