Christopher Jair Pitre “Slim”, 30, a native of Houma, resident of Gibson and current resident of Orange, Texas, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his mother, Rose Celestine Pitre of Gibson and father, Raleigh James Pitre of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Chrislyn Jahria Pitre of Orange, Texas; two sisters, Meka Pitre Johnson and husband, Charles, of Houma, and Keyon Pitre Taylor and husband, Kenric, of Baton Rouge; three nieces, Meah Charnaé Johnson, Myla Chenaé Johnson and Klarc Lo’Ryn Taylor; his second family whom he spent a lot of time with, Michael and Judy Gobert of Orange, Texas, Matthew Gobert Sr. and wife, Shaya, Miguel Gobert Sr., Mario Gobert Sr. and wife, Natrisha, Malai Gobert Sezer and husband, Allen Ray, and all of their grandchildren; and his maternal and paternal aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Celestin and Mary Prevost Celestin; his paternal grandparents, Henry and Edna Pitre; one sister, Treva Monet’ Pitre; five uncles; and three aunts.
Christopher was born in Houma Aug. 22, 1979 and raised in Gibson. He attended Terrebonne Parish Schools and was a 1997 graduate of H.L. Bourgeois High School. After graduation, he moved to Orange, Texas and worked as a car salesman and machine operator at Akrotex
