Veronica Ann “Yonnie” Duplantis Maronge, 64, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA and a resident of Carencro, LA died on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 4:22 a.m. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home with burial in St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Sumrall and husband Rodney of Carencro, Louisiana; brothers, Jerry Duplantis and William “Billy Boy” Duplantis both of Dulac, Louisiana; stepdaughter, Lynn Theriot and husband Wayne of Dularge, Louisiana; stepson, Philip Maronge Jr., of Carencro, Louisiana;4 Grandchildren; 8 Step Grandchildren and 8 Step Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Joseph Maronge, Sr.; parents, Johnny Duplantis, Sr., and Ida Chaisson Duplantis; sisters, Mary Jane LaBlanc, Lura Duplantis, Geraldine Buquet and Rosella Duplantis; brothers, Kenneth, Bruce, Roosevelt, Johnny Jr., and Wedgir Duplantis.
