Elmer James Lirette, 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 3:30 PM. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. a Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Earline Pinell Lirette; step children, Bud Caro, Irma Pitre; grandchildren, Chance, Ryan and Kevin Caro, Tara Pitre and Dustin Lirette; brothers, Curtis Lirette, Donald Lirette and sisters, Barbara Price and husband Leroy Price and Ernestine Pitre and husband Andrew Pitre and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde James Lirette and Elizabeth Ellender Lirette; sons, Robert Joseph Lirette and Kevin Joseph Lirette and sister, Gloria Henry. He was a retired welder and compressor mechanic for Texaco for 33 years. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of the United States Navy during World War II.
