Joy Muro Kraus, 81, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houma, died Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at Grace Lutheran Church.
Services will be on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
at Grace Lutheran Church with burial in Hope Mausoleum.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Preston Kraus; sons, Gary P. Kraus and wife Connie Kraus of Lafayette, LA and Bennett A. Kraus and Fiancee' Kathleen Rieve of Houma, LA; grandchildren, Paul Kraus, Kristen Kraus, Andrew Kraus, Shaun Kraus, Kelly and Leigh Rhodes and great grandchildren, Kara Kraus and Peyton Kraus.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, Emile Muro and Rita Humphrey Muro and grandchild, Kara Kraus.
She was a Mother and Homemaker.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
She worked for H. and R. Block.
Joy worked for the U.S. Corp of Engineer during World War II in New Orleans, LA, where she was born and raised. After Marrying Andy in 1946, she became a homemaker and dedicated herself to raising her two sons. She was very talented and put that talent to work in the numerous charities and Christian organizations and efforts Joy and Andy supported. She was a loving mother and fabulous cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, giving to others and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
