Allen Joseph Dupre, Sr., 82, a native of Pointe-Aux-Chenes, LA and a resident of Amelia, LA died Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:15 PM.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 26, 2009 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church and 12:00 p.m. until service time at Holy Family Catholic Church.
A Mass of Chrisitian burial will be on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Duplantis Dupre; sons, Rachael Morris Dupre and wife Waldine, Allen Joseph Dupre, Jr., Kelly Anthony Dupre, Sr. and wife Susan;
daughters, Andrea Dupre Baum and husband Vic, Christine Ann Dupre and Evans, Valina Dupre Blanchard and husband Stewart, Mona Dupre Carpenter and husband Sean, Leslie Dupre Hanson and husband Richard;
88 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren;
brothers, Marquis Dupre, Willard Naquin, Alvin Naquin;
sisters, Julia "T-Lou" Adams, Dora Lee Authement, Marie Hunt
He is preceded in death by his
parents, Morris Joseph Dupre and Felicia Dupre Dupre;
brother, Murphy Dupre and
numerous step-brothers and step-sisters.
He was a propeller shop foreman and a retired boat captain.
He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church of Amelia.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He enjoyed Dancing and spending time with his family.
He was an active member of the VFW in Dulac and he was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Andrews Catholic Church.
